Tigers score late to topple Crusaders

The Tigers upped their CLCleading record to 6-0 (8-1 overall). The Crusaders fell to 2-3-1 in the league (5-4-1 overall).

Senior forward Allison Schmid scored the game’s first goal on a shot from outside the 18 which sailed over goalkeeper Claudia Zastrow in the 69th minute.

HGHS added an insurance goal by freshman midfielder Morgan Wittman with four minutes left, assisted by freshman forward Brittany Schaller.

“It took us a while to find the net but the girls were persistent. I was impressed with our possession play today,” said Tiger head coach Todd Fischer.

The Tigers held a decisive advantage in shots on goal at 18-5. HGHS goalie Olivia Stauss made five saves and Zastrow had 16.
