Students having a blast-off



The annual Wisconsin State Rockets for Schools event at Spaceport Sheboygan Blue Harbor Resort drew over 300 students from 41 teams from 33 schools and 4-H Clubs from across Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and Michigan May 2-3. The Rockets For Schools contest provides an opportunity for students to learn about aerospace technology, scientifific experiments and space launches. Student teams constructed a rocket equipped with a motor to lift it to high altitudes. In addition to constructing a rocket, students designed a payload experiment to flfly in their rocket. Students also gave an oral presentation and prepared a visual display of their experiment for consideration by a panel of judges.
