Reichert’s goal earns overtime win for Plymouth

CAMPBELLSPORT – Senior midfielder Brooke Reichert’s goal two minutes into overtime lifted the Plymouth Panthers over upsetminded Campbellsport in a girls soccer battle here Monday evening.

The Panthers upped their firstplace Eastern Wisconsin Conference record to 6-0 (8-3 overall) and stretched their winning streak to seven. The Cougars dropped to 1-5 in the EWC (2-7-1 overall).

“Brooke placed a beautiful shot over the keeper’s hands to earn the win. She came up big for us in this one,” said Panther head coach Brad Feick.

The Panthers took a 1-0 halftime lead on a goal by senior forward

Erin Falk in the 11th minute.

The Cougars forced overtime when Tiffani Anderson scored in the 66th minute.

PHS led 9-4 in shots on goal. Panther senior goalie Sophie Hau made four saves. Elizabeth Bolland also played in the goal for PHS. Cougar goalkeeper Emma Sippel had seven saves.

“Our goalies played pretty well throughout the game. Sophie in the first half made a tough save when their midfielder drove a ball from deep,” Feick said.

“While we aren’t satisfied with how we won, we know that we were able to overcome another challenge. Campbellsport played well but we were still able to earn the win.”
