Host Panthers sweep EWC triangulars

PLYMOUTH – The host Plymouth Panthers won Tuesday’s Eastern Wisconsin Conference boys and girls triangular track meets.

PHS won eight events in the boys competition as it tallied 93 points. Waupun was a distant second place with 57½, followed by New Holstein with 33½.

In the girls meet, the Panthers outscored runner-up Waupun, 80- 72, led by double-winner Morgan Lisowe. Morgan, a sophomore, took first in the 100- and 400-meter dashes with times of 13.75 seconds and 1 minute, 5.55 seconds, respectively. PHS won nine events.

“Our kids performed well. It was good to get a meet in for all our athletes as we are still in the process of determining our best varsity lineups for the upcoming big meets,” said PHS head coach Jay Grosshuesch.

“For the boys, our sprint group and the hurdlers performed real well. In the field, our boys had some quality throws and we had nice work from our young high jumpers and long jumpers,” said Grosshuesch.
