Rita E. Hubacek, age 76, of Plymouth, Wis., passed away Monday afternoon, May 12, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at St. Nicholas Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born May 26, 1937 in Sheboygan, Wis., a daughter of the late George and Mary (Leider) Depies.

Rita attended Dacada Grade School and graduated from Random Lake High School in 1955.

On Oct. 9, 1965, she married Michael Hubacek at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Random Lake. The couple have resided in Plymouth since their marriage.

She worked at the State Bank of Random Lake for over 10 years and after marriage she helped run the family business, Hubacek Electric Motor Service. She was also a loving wife and mother and ran the family home.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth for 48 years.

Rita enjoyed gardening, reading, baking, traveling, visiting her siblings/in-laws and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Michael of Plymouth; four children: Beth (Gary) Shaw of Combined Locks, Joseph Hubacek of Random Lake, Judy Hubacek of Sheboygan and Lisa (Brad) Teetzen of Sheboygan Falls; two grandchildren, Emma and Jessica Teetzen; one sister, Valeria Bittner of Saukville; three brothers-in-law: Wilfred Heinen of Port Washington, Gerald (JoAnne) Hubacek of Menomonee Falls and David (Jeannie) Hubacek of Grafton; two sisters-in-law, Joan Depies of Fredonia and Carol Depies of Random Lake; and also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ursula Heinen; three brothers, Jerome, Bill and Arnold Depies; brother-inlaw, Donald Bittner and sister-in-law, Jean Depies.

Memorial Mass will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 16, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Father Dan Volkert, pastor of the church, will officiate. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held at CHURCH on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Rita’s name.
