4-H Multi-County Goat Show set for fairgrounds

Sheboygan County 4-H Goat Project families will again host the 24th Annual Multi County Goat Show at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth Saturday, June 21.

The show is a “FUN” show, not sanctioned, and typically attracts over 100 entrants in dairy, meat, and pygmy breeds. The entrants can choose to compete in both breed and showmanship classes. All breeds will be judged separately and classes will be broken down according to the animal’s age. Registration papers are not required. Showmanship classes will include senior, intermediate, junior and beginner.

This year’s judge will be Andrea Swanson from Random Lake.She has been raising and showing goats for 13 years and has been in 4-H for 11 years and FFA for 4 years. She will be a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire next year, majoring in Pre-Vet.

The Sheboygan County 4-H group will be offering a food stand and will have a raffle which will be held in conjunction with the show with proceeds used to help support this show and support our goat project.

Show awards include ribbons and prizes in the breed classes and trophies for grand champion showmanship classes. The show is open to all youths up to the age 18 including all 4-H and FFA members in Wisconsin. Entrants may register at 8 a.m. with judging to begin at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $2 per animal due by June 13. After June 13 the late entry fee is $3. Entries will be accepted on the day of show.

All exhibitors must furnish their own feed and bedding.
