PHS boys repeat as EWC Relays champs

TWO RIVERS – The Plymouth Panthers successfully defended their boys title in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference Relays track meet here Tuesday.

PHS edged runner-up New Holstein, 97-96. Sheboygan Falls won the girls crown for the second straight year – scoring 116 points. The Panthers placed second for the second consecutive year as they totaled 92.5.

“Both teams had quality meets. We changed some of our relays up a bit to see how we could stack up against the other conference schools,” said PHS head coach Jay Grosshuesch.

“It was good to give some of our other kids a chance to compete, and they stepped up real well. Our junior varsity relays did an awesome job and our sprint relays continue to excel.

“Our boys and girls throwers and our boys pole vaulters also had strong meets in the field events,” said Grosshuesch.
