Resorters eke out comeback win

ELKHART LAKE – Raechel Grunewald’s bases-loaded walk with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning forced in Aryanna Klemme with the winning run as Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah pulled out a 5-4 win over Random Lake here Tuesday afternoon.

The Resorters hiked their Central Lakeshore Conference softball record to 8-4 (8-4 overall).

Elkhart scored three runs in the sixth to erase a 4-1 deficit, tying the game at 4-4. Holly Zorn delivered a clutch RBI single. The other two runs scored on wild pitches.

Claire Feldmann, Rachael Flora and Mariah Ausloos led the Resorters’ attack with two hits each, including a triple by Flora.

Jenna Bares sparked the Rams’ bats with three hits, including a triple. The Rams banged out 13 hits but stranded 15 baserunners.

Klemme earned a complete-game win. She allowed two earned runs and five walks while striking out six.
