Panthers wrap up EWC title with two wins in two days

The Plymouth Panthers clinched their second straight Eastern Wisconsin Conference boys tennis title with a 7-0 rout over host Waupun in dual play Tuesday afternoon.

The shutout gave PHS an insurmountable lead in the EWC point standings which determine the league champion. The Panthers, who improved to 8-0 in the EWC (9-0 overall), upped their conference point total to 48 (one point per individual match win).

“I’m really proud of our guys as we had to play with a totally revamped lineup and to still come away with a 7-0 win,” said PHS head coach Clare Sedlacek.

In a makeup meet May 19, the visiting Panthers rolled past Kewaunee, 7-0, in an EWC dual.
