Healing Wall

To the Editor,

In my summation at the Memorial Day program in Union Cemetery I said “Plymouth is my Adopted hometown”.

Being a Milwaukee native I meant that from the bottom of my heart. So many of you could have found other recreational activities, but decided to view the parade and take in the program.

As a Vietnam War Veteran you can’t imagine what that personally means, since this day is very personal to me.

While researching the history of the Plymouth Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post I did stray from that research to find a lot about Plymouth. I found that since the Civil War Plymouth has answered the call to duty, with devotion to love and faith to our country.

I won’t mention the persons/ organizations that participated or helped me with this event for fear of leaving someone out, but I have thanked them personally.

I do want to remind you again that the “Healing Wall”, the 3/5th replica of the Vietnam Wall is coming to Sheboygan County, August 20th – 24th 2014.

The event will be held at the Sheboygan County Memorial just south of Kohler Memorial Drive. Please check out www.scvmemorial.org to find out how you can help.

Thank you Plymouth for all that you do for Veterans. I really appreciate the coverage of the parade by the Plymouth Review and Plymouth Community Television.
