ELIZABETH (BADE) KRAEMER WERBECKES

Elizabeth (Bade) Kraemer Werbeckes, 93, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the Beechwood Rest Home.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, June 8, at the Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth, officiated by the Rev. Robin Celiz, who is married to one of Betty’s grandchildren.

Burial took place in the Beechwood Cemetery.

Betty was born July 23, 1920, to Frank and Louise (Kruger) Bade. Her sisters, Evelyn, Lois and Elva and her brother, Frank, all preceded her in death. The family lived initially in Elkhart Lake but moved to Plymouth when Betty was very young. She attended Plymouth schools and graduated from Plymouth High School.

She married Roland Kraemer at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plymouth on March 2, 1946, and they took over the Kraemer family farmstead on County W in rural Cascade where they farmed for almost 30 years. Roland died in 1975.

Betty married Albert Werbeckes in 1985, and they lived in a new house they built just up the hill from the farmstead. He died in 1989.

She is survived by four children: Karen (John) Ruder of Vancouver, B.C., Canada; Diane (Allen) Neumann of Random Lake; Janet (Dale) Fitzsimons of Fenimore and Roland Jr. of Cascade; six grandchildren: Doug (Jen) Neumann of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Barry (Jennifer) Neumann of Chicago; Elizabeth (Robin) Celiz of Castlegar, BC, Canada; Sean (Maria) Fitzsimons of Marysville, Wash.; Joy Fitzsimons of Waukesha and Katharyn Von Meerscheidt of Tucson, Ariz.; and by nine great-grandchildren, with a 10th on the way: Grace, Anna, Ellison, Bennett, Aurora, Maggie, Charlotte, Amelia and Richard.

Betty is also survived by brother-inlaw, Harold Koopman of Plymouth and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Virgil and June Kraemer of Fond du Lac; as well as neighbors and friends who meant a lot in her life.
