Mary M. Verhage, age 49, of Plymouth, WI, passed away at her home on Tuesday June 10, 2014.

She was born on April 7, 1965 in Sheboygan, WI, a daughter of Paula Kirst Dziak and the late Charles Dziak.

She attended elementary/middle school at Sheboygan Falls. She attended Lakeshore Technical College in Cleveland and graduated in 1994 with an Associate Degree in Nursing. In 1999, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Marion College in Fond du Lac. In 2006, she became a certified Hyperbaric Medical Nurse and in 2010 she received her certificate as a certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse.

Mary was a published author and researcher for many medical magazines and started the Hyperbaric Center at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan and spent many volunteer hours doing diabetic foot care for the underprivileged.

She enjoyed fishing, riding her Harley, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and touched many lives through her many years nursing.

She is survived by two daughters: Elizabeth (Joe) Miller of Plymouth and Samantha Verhage (Significant special friend: Matthew Egerer) of Port Washington; one son: Benjamin Verhage of Random Lake; two grandchildren: Corbin and Lianna; her companion: Mike Fuller of Plymouth; her mother: Paula Dziak of Athelstane, WI and three sisters: Ann (Bill) Hoffman of Menasha, Eve (Thomas) Blanchard of Sheboygan and Teresa Dziak (Partner: Mary Willard) of Sheboygan Falls.

Mary is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father: Charles.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday (June 14th) at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake. Father Dan Volkert, pastor of the church will officiate. Cremation will follow services.

Visitation will be held on Saturday morning at the CHURCH in the Resurrection Chapel from 10:30 A.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Mary’s name.
