Tigers hold on, stay perfect

The Tigers upped their firstplace CLC mark to 10-0 (11-1 overall). The Rams fell to 2-8 in the league (2-8 overall).

HGHS scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to up their lead to 7-4 which proved to be the difference. Zac Stauss and Dakota Rabe scored on a fielder’s choice by Bryce Pedrin. Stauss and Rabe had reached base on a single and walk, respectively.

The Tigers had a very balanced attack with six batters having two hits each – Austin Edge, Zach Fritz, Bryce Hoffmann, Jake Fritz, Andrew Reinemann and Rabe. Pedrin led in RBIs with two.

Rabe and Edge scored a teamhigh two runs each.

Fritz was the winning pitcher as he allowed five runs (two earned) and two walks while striking out two in 6-1/3 innings. Edge earned a save by recording the final two outs.

The Rams’ attack was led by Chris Miller, Erik Holeman and Reed Anklam with three hits apiece. Holeman had a team-high two RBIs.
