DONALD D. DANKS

Donald D. Danks, age 86, Sheboygan Falls, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2014, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.

He was born May 29, 1928 in New London, Wis., the son of Charles and Martha (Klatt) Danks. The family moved to Sheboygan Falls in 1928. Don graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1946. He attended St. Norbert’s College and Marquette University.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Don was employed by Curt G. Joa Inc. in Sheboygan Falls and Florida, until 1964, then Hayssen Mfg. Co. for 26 years, retiring in 1990.

Don married Mary Kolbeck in 1953, and she passed away in 1959. In 1961 he married Carmen Shallow.

He was an active member of Blessed Trinity Parish, where he served on the Parish

Council for six years and five years as the secretary. He also was a member of the Building and Grounds Committee and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, where he served as conference president for six years.

Don enjoyed woodworking, camping and loved his Model A.

Don is survived by his wife, Carmen of Sheboygan Falls; six children, Michael (Carmi Parker) of Everett, Wash.; Tom of Vancouver, Wash.; Jerry of Milwaukee; Anne (Jeff) of Del Mar, Calif.; Julie of Muskego and Barbara (Lynn Weir) of Homewood, Ill.; and seven grandchildren. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Rev. Arthur, Raymond, Robert and Richard; and many sisters-inlaw and brothers-in-law.

A memorial Mass was held at 5 p.m. Monday, July 7, at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating.

Visitation was held Monday at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established in Donald’s name for St. Vincent de Paul.
