Richard John Unger passed away Monday, July 7, 2014, after a long illness.

He was born in Plymouth, Wis., to Armella and Francis Unger on Jan. 19, 1940. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School, class of 1958 and entered the Navy and served until his honorable discharge in 1962.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Unger and siblings and their spouses, Barbara (Unger) and Henry Vandermause, Collette (Unger) Flood, Sue (Unger) Zimmermann, Bob and Betty Unger and Tom Unger and Mary Payne; and his children and their spouses, Paul and Mary Jo Unger, Denise (Unger) and Jess Torres, Mary Ann Unger and Annette La- Bissoniere, Jerry La Fave, and Tom and Chris La Fave. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sara Moon, Andrew Torres, Christine Cook, Brianne Unger, Isaac Unger, Jennifer Gordon, Taylor La Fave, Jordan La Fave, Stephan Torres, Madison Unger and Cristian Torres; and many additional nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

He will be laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash.
