Ramthun

To the Editor:

On Aug. 12, the voters of the 59th Assembly District have the opportunity to nominate a candidate to the state Assembly who has the conservative credentials to represent our district with integrity and who will help continue the advances made in the past four years by our governor, Scott Walker.

In my 30-plus years as a local elected official both at the town and county level, I have seen firsthand the impact that capable, qualified legislators have on the people of our district. Legislators who understand the proper role of government in our lives, who understand the word “burden” when it comes to taxes, and who tell it like it is without pandering, are the type of legislators who most closely reflect the beliefs of the people in our district.

Candidate Tim Ramthun has all these qualities and more. He has proven his leadership skills in the public and private sectors. As president of the Kewaskum School Board, he has led the district successfully through the changes of Act 10 and a strategic planning process. In private business, he has worked for a number of Fortune 500 companies, creating value and efficiency, working to create highly functional operations for his clients.

Tim’s goals as a legislator are to provide effective and efficient government to our citizens, watch our tax dollars carefully, and analyze governmental operations for efficient delivery of services. Tim also understands the relationship between economic development and jobs in our state and the impact that those jobs have on tax receipts. His understanding of agriculture and its role in a strong Wisconsin cannot be understated.

He is pro-life, pro-Second Amendment and opposes Common Core in our schools. These things are important; but so are character, integrity and a strong work ethic.

I am proud to support Tim Ramthun in the Aug. 12 Republican Primary election and I ask that you support him with your vote, also.

Daniel Stoffel, treasurer,
town of Kewaskum, Washington
County Board supervisor
