East downs North in LOL All-Star game

SAUKVILLE – The Eastern Division banged out 13 hits to fuel a 10-3 win over the Northern Division in the Land O’ Lakes Baseball League All-Star Game here Sunday afternoon.

Catcher Bryce Skelton and first baseman Brady Callahan of the Howards Grove Riverdogs started for the Northern Division and collected one hit each. Skelton also scored a run. Riverdog shortstop Cole Reinemann also played and was 0-for-2 at the plate.

The Plymouth Flames had one all-star, pitcher Ryan Wachter, who threw two innings in relief of starter Josh Ruppel of Thiensville Mequon who took the loss. Wachter allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits with three walks, a hit batter and zero strikeouts.

Grafton third baseman Dustin Kesner was named the Northern Division’s Most Valuable Player. Kesner had a team-high two hits to go with an RBI. Cole Granrath, Saukville outfielder, led the North in RBIs with two.

Nate Simons of Racine paced the East in hits with three and RBIs, two.
