Schwoerer named first downtown manager

RANDY SCHWOERER RANDY SCHWOERER Plymouth’s Chamber of Commerce and the Plymouth Redevelopment Authority have announced the hiring of Randy Schwoerer as the new downtown business manager. As the downtown business manager, Schwoerer will assist businesses in downtown Plymouth in creating events to bring consumers to the district as well as work to attract other new businesses to the downtown area.

“We are confident about the plans to enhance downtown Plymouth as a shopping and social destination and feel that Randy’s experience will be valuable in achieving our goals,” stated RDA Director Lee Gentine.

Schwoerer is a Sheboygan resident who has managed the Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts and served as the Sheboygan Harbor Center Business Improvement District manager. A diverse background in marketing and communications in the entertainment business and motorsports as well as owning restaurants in Alabama and Mississippi tie in directly to business management and development.

The Plymouth RDA serves as an umbrella organization for the entire city, providing a conduit and vehicle for redevelopment efforts in terms of acquiring property, providing financing and clearing the way for development efforts. The Plymouth Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization that exists primarily to represent and promote the interests of its member businesses in the Plymouth area.
