Roger K. Haag, age 84, of the town of Sherman, passed away early Saturday morning, July 26, 2014, at Anita’s Garden in Plymouth.

He was born Feb. 16, 1930 in the town of Sherman, Wis., a son of the late Phillip and Emma Kleinhans Haag. He attended LaFolleyte Grade School in the town of Sherman and attended Plymouth High School.

Roger was employed at Burghard and Sons in Adell for four years before working with the Sheboygan County Highway Department for eight years. He also worked at Borden’s Foods in Plymouth for 25 years retiring in 1985.

On Dec. 2, 1950, he married Joan Weinhold at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple lived in Adell for five years and then moved to the family homestead in the town of Sherman. His wife preceded him in death Nov. 26, 2012.

After retirement, he was a salesman for Archie’s Monument Co. and Milwaukee Monuments for 13 years. Roger also was the sexton and caretaker for Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in the town of Sherman for the past 63 years.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo, and belonged to many committees in the church. He enjoyed doing yard work.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney (Sue) Haag of West Bend and James (Susan) Haag of Sheboygan; two daughters, Monica (Peter) Turk of Adell and Dawn (Jeff) Morgan of Random Lake; four grandchildren: Jeff (Stacy) Bichler of Random Lake, Janel (Todd) Schlenther of Waldo, and Evan and Colin Morgan of Random Lake; five step grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janet (Richard) Maas of Sheboygan and Rita (Kenneth) Stoffregen of Plymouth; and is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one sisterin law, Mary Kordosky.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, July 29, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo. The Rev. Nhia Wahn Her, pastor of the church, officiated.

Burial took place in the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in the town of Sherman.

A memorial fund is being established in Roger’s name for the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery Association and for Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo.
