Riverdogs fall to Lakers in playoff opener

The No. 2-seeded Lakers broke the game open at 10-3 after their outburst in the sixth. Justin Behm’s two-run double was the key blow.

Port Washington tallied three runs in the fifth to take a 5-2 lead. Nick Heiting cracked a two-run double which put the Lakers up 4-2. Behm added an RBI single to make it 5-2.

Powering the Lakers’ 14-hit attack were Kyle Kichura, Heiting and Behm with three each. Heiting and Behm combined for seven RBIs.

Mark Holzman and son, Ashton, paced the Riverdogs in hits with two each. Howards banged out 11 hits.

The No. 7-seeded Riverdogs finished 5-14 in league action.
