MANITOWOC – It was a grand night of Eastern Wisconsin Stock Cars racing Friday at the fast onethird mile at the Manitowoc County Fairgrounds. The racy surface made for some hectic racing across all divisions .

The Grand National, the first feature event of the evening, pulled out of Turn 4 with Chad Ninmer (Cleveland) on the pole, Nick Schumacher (Eagle), Nick Strobbe (Germantown), Dan Schumacher (Milwaukee), and Kevin Lubach (Elkhart Lake) filling out the top five.

Nick Schumacher ran out to the first lap lead with Ninmer and Dan Schumacher in his tire tracks. Dan Schumacher made quick work of Ninmer and set off to chase down his brother.

Lap four produced the only caution for an incident in Turn 3 & 4 involving Tim Simon (Fond du Lac) and Donny Kulow (Plymouth), which also collected Brian Cesar and Matt Jackson (Sheboygan), with all cars except Simon being finished for the night.

Lubach, who had wrestled the lead from Nick Schumacher the lap before, led the restart, followed by Nick and Dan Schumacher, Brian Gilles (Plymouth) and Ryan Minster (Sheboygan).

Gilles rolled through the Schumachers on the restart, pushing into second, then on lap eight moved around Lubach for the lead. At the halfway mark it was Gilles, Nick Schumacher, Minster, Lubach, Dan Schumacher, Steven Weber (Plymouth), Kody Wirtz (Milwaukee) and Strobbe.

Minster moved around Schumacher but could not chase down Gilles as he collected another feature win. Minster rolled through runner-up, followed in order by Nick Schumacher, Dan Schumacher, Lubach, Wirtz, Weber, Ninmer and Strobbe.

Tim Buhler of Glenbeulah finished third in the Late Model feature. Rick Scheffler, Waukesha, captured first.

Eric Scribner of Waldo and Travis Arenz, Sheboygan, placed second and third, respectively, in the Sport Modified feature. Steve Schneider of Chilton took home the checkered flag.

The top local finisher in the Sport 4’s was Brody Rivest of Sheboygan who earned fourth. Ben Meyerhofer, Menasha, was the winner.
