LC gridders picked fourth in NACC

The Lakeland College football team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2014 Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference preseason poll of league coaches and sports information directors which was released Tuesday by the conference.

The Muskies received 54 points in the poll to rank fourth of seven teams. Lakeland came in behind preseason favorite and defending champion Concordia University Wisconsin, as well as Benedictine (Ill.) University, second, and then Wisconsin Lutheran College, to place in the middle of the seven-team pack.

The Muskies finished 7-3 overall last year and placed second in the NACC with a 5-1 conference mark. Lakeland must replace three-year starting quarterback Dylan Van Straten but returns four first team all- NACC performers.

Rudnick, Boos shoot aces at QQO

ELKHART LAKE – Pam Rudnick and Karene Boos of Elkhart Lake each carded a hole-in-one at the Quit Qui Oc Golf Club recently.

Rudnick earned her ace Saturday on the par-3, 150-yard ninth hole witha5Rescueclub.Boosacedthepar-3,99-yardfourthholeonJuly 16 with a 9-iron.
