Canines, young owners show their stuff at 4-H judging

The turnout of handlers and animals always proves that the project is alive and well. There are multiple rings for showing with judges of high quality in excellence.

The ring and judges for the early morning were Agility - Mary Fell; Rally - Cheryl Sargent; Team Obedience, Pre-Novice and Novice - Lynne Neumann and Cathy Kanouse; Obedience, Pre-Novice A and Obedience, Novice A - Cathy Kanause;Obedience, Pre-Novice B Obedience, Novice B, Graduate Novice, Pre-Open - Lynne Neumann; Junior Showmanship; Grades 3-6, Intermediate Showmanship Grades 7-9, Senior Showmanship Grades 10-13, Open Showmanship youth eighth grade and under and Open Showmanship youth ninth grade and above judge Mary Fell.

The most fascinating part is the fact that despite a large mixture of different dogs it is a rarity to witness any discontent or power moves.

The judge for the beginning group of handlers noted that this was the best group of beginners she had ever had the pleasure of judging.

There were some tears from handlers not as happy with how they finished in the group, but overall they looked professional and well-disciplined.

The dog project continues to grow, but there is always room for more. If interested call the 4-H office at 459-5903.

Pre-Novice 4-8 with score of 100 - Kevin Krentz.

Pre-Novice 12-16 with score of 95 - Alexander Kleiber.

Novice 12 – 16 with score of 90 - Emily Geiger.

Open 4 – 8 with score of 100 - Cameron Bruggink.

Open 12-16 with score of 100 - Amber Deamico.

Junior Showmanship

Best Handler – Erin Spieth

Beginner grades 3–6 - Levi Dulmus.

Intermediate Showmanship

Grades 7-9 - Brianna Klein

Senior Showmanship

10th-13th grade - Alayna Arnold.

Open Showmanship

Eighth grade and under - Paige Bruggink.
