The match was the Central Lakeshore Conference opener for the Resorters. Tuesday night, host Elkhart swept Stockbridge, 25-21, 25-23, 25-21 in a nonconference match.

“I was so proud of our effort today. We overcame a few obstacles to win,” said Resorter new head coach Jim Brown.

“I thought I made a few coaching errors that the girls overcame. We also did not serve well either and played sloppy. However, we are becoming a team and hung together and still won the match.”

Rachael Flora led Elkhart in kills with 11 and blocks, three. Sonia Schubert had six kills and a teamhigh eight ace serves. Emily Holzmann led in assists with 10.

Schubert paced Elkhart in aces with four. Holzmann had a team-best 12 assists, followed by Feldmann with nine.

“I was so proud of our effort. We didn’t play great but we played together,” Brown said.
