Jane E. Risse, age 71, of Silver Creek, passed away unexpectedly early Monday afternoon, Sept. 8, 2014.

She was born Nov. 26, 1942 in Plymouth, a daughter of the late Glenn and Luella (Timm) Zimmermann. She attended school in Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School.

On Aug. 25, 1962, she married Dean Risse at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Plymouth. The couple resided in Silver Creek after their marriage. Dean preceded her in death May 15, 2012.

She was employed as a nursing assistant for the Sheboygan County Comprehensive Health Care Facility and later at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility until her retirement. She also ran a business out of her home, Jane’s Country Collectibles.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Woman’s Auxiliary. She served as a 4-H leader in Sheboygan County for many years and also served as a den mother for the Cub Scouts.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Silver Creek where she taught Sunday school for many years and served on the Ladies Guild.

She enjoyed knitting, cross-stitching, antiques, collectibles and spending time with her loving family and friends. She was a dedicated and loving grandmother.

Survivors include four children: Todd R. Risse of Dell Rapids, S.D.; Timm D. (Lori) Risse of Random Lake; Tammie (Jeff) Broin of Dell Rapids and Thomas G. Risse of Silver Creek; 10 grandchildren: Jordan and Nicholas Risse of Random Lake; Adam, Ashley and Zachary Risse of Random Lake; Alyssa, Miranda and Austin Broin of Dell Rapids and RaeAnne and Mitchell Risse of Silver Creek; two step grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew Stolper of Adell; two former daughters-inlaw, Debra Boone and Jami Stolper; one brother-in-law, Ronny (DuAnne) Risse of Hingham and two sisters-in-law, Jane (Ed) Wiebe of Fillmore, Wis., and Suzanne Unger Zimmerman of Burlington, Wash. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; mother- and father-in-law, Rollin and Sarah Risse; and two brothers, Timm and Jack Zimmermann.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Rev. David Schlieter, pastor of New Horizon United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul’s U.C.C. Cemetery in Silver Creek.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home from 1 p.m. Saturday until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Jane’s name.
