PHS finished seventh in the 12- team meet with 170 points. Kimberly was the champion at 72, edging Appleton North by one.

In the boys meet, junior Ian Mc- Connaha paced the Panthers with an 18th-place effort in 17:23.69 over 3.1 miles. Tannor Wagnor of Ashwaubenon earned first in 16:01.48.

The Panthers placed eighth in the 12-team field with 245 points. Kimberly was first with 41.

“Both teams ran well in a very competitive meet. Both the boys and girls meets had some of the top Division 1 teams in the state, so it was great for us to compete against such strong competition,” said PHS head coach Jay Grosshuesch.

“Our runners ran some great times on a fast course but we are excited about our growth and improvement as both the varsity and junior varsity runners are getting better each week.

“Sophie and Brooke continue to run at a very high level. They both had real strong finishes to their races. Olivia [Jankowski] and Maria ]Ryan] also continued their strong seasons with quality races.

“Ian ran real well with a strong start and a gutsy finish. Paul [Francis] ran a real hard second half to his race and Alan [Schaefer] is really coming on for us in his first consistent taste of varsity competition,” said Grosshuesch.
