In the title match, Sophie Albert led PHS in kills with seven. Mary Albert had a team-high 11 assists.

“It was hard-fought match but overall there were good things that I saw from the girls again,” said Panther head coach Peggy Huhn.

In their other pool match, the Panthers swept Sheboygan Lutheran, 25-17, 25-14. PHS advanced to the finals with a 25-20, 18-25, 15-11 victory over Port Washington in the semifinals.

“It was a very close game [match versus Port Washington] but we remained very composed and kept our attention on the task at hand,” said Huhn.

“I was a really great week after seeing the higher level of play last weekend in Oshkosh [in Oshkosh Showdown tournament Sept. 19-20].”

PHS placed eighth in the Oshkosh Showdown. On Sept. 25, the Panthers beat New Holstein in a dual match.

Sophie Albert paced PHS in kills for the invitational with 36, followed by Mary Albert’s 15. Megan Goeser had 13, and Kathryn Aukerman and Emma Grapentine, 12 each.
