The Resorters upped their first-place South Division record to 5-0 and improved to 7-0 overall. The Oaks fell to 1-3 in the South and 1-5 overall.

Elkhart will host Valley Christian (Oshkosh) in a key division game Friday night. The Warriors are tied for second in the South at 3-1 (5-2 overall).

Elkhart rolled up 429 yards on the ground and had four ball carriers with at least 82 yards. Shaw, a sophomore tailback, averaged a whopping 19.1 yards per attempt as he carried the ball just eight times, including a 71- yard touchdown dash. Van Oss, a senior quarterback, rushed for 96 yards and two TDs.

Van Oss also had a 90-yard fumble return for a score from his defensive back position. Senior running back Trevor Rebedew contributed 89 yards rushing and two TDs. Sophomore running back Dyllan Konen ran for 82 yards and a TD which came on a 52-yard sprint.

The Resorter defense forced four turnovers, including three fumbles. Senior linebacker Brock Bonebrake ran a fumble back 20 yards for a score. Shaw had an interception and Dyllan Konen recovered a fumble.

“Overall, this was probably our best team performance of the season. It was a total team effort,” said Resorter head coach Barry Feldmann.

“We had a strong running game. We had good execution on our blocking. Our defense was solid. Anytime you win the turnover battle, that’s big.

“Trevor Rebedew [linebacker] was solid again on defense. Jared Shaw ran hard again,” said Feldmann.
