Paint the Town winners



Thirty-eight artists from Wisconsin and beyond gathered to paint the architecture, landscapes, gardens and waterways of the Plymouth area during Plymouth Arts Center’s 5th Annual “Paint the Town, En Plein Air” event. Stephen Wysocki of Armstrong Creek won the $1,000 Grand Purchase award for his oil painting, “Rail Head (above).” The prize was provided by Margaret Wittkopp and Veritas Financial Services. Keary Kautzer of Sheboygan won the second place $500 Purchase Award for his watercolor painting, “Mullet River Too (top),” provided by Gary and Susie Kramer and Gary Kramer Appraisals. The $300 First Place award went to Judith Gahn Murphy of Milwaukee for “Historical Society (left),” oil. The $200 Second Place: Beth Stoddard of Milwaukee for “Nutt Hill at Day’s End,” oil. The $100 Third Place: to Deke Palecek of Kaukauna for “Rare Books,” oil. Non-Cash Merit Awards went to Jenny Anderson of Milwaukee for “Perfect Day on Nutt Hill” oil, Mary Rypel Anderson of Abrams for “Water Under the Bridge” pastel, Dale Knaak of Sheboygan for “Back of the Tracks” oil, Paula Swaydan-Grebel of Plymouth for “Veteran’s Park” oil, Bob Beck of Manitowoc for “6:45 PM” oil, and Jason Prigge of Manitowoc for “Backstage Pass” oil. The Viewers Choice and Postcard award winner (for the best representation of downtown Plymouth to benefit the PAC’s Awareness Program.) was Russell Schwindt of Manitowoc for his oil painting, “Dresses, Coffee & a Bar…Ta Da!”
