Hopfs 60th wedding anniversary

Don and Gloria Hopf of 123 S. Grant St., Howards Grove, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014. It began with a church service at Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove, for family and friends and relatives followed by a dinner and reception at Klemme’s Wagon Wheel.

They were married Sept. 18, 1954, at St. John and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Cleveland.

She was born Aug. 25, 1935, the daughter of Henry and Gertude Matthias of Cleveland. She was employed by Matthias Dairy and H.C. Prange Co., was a farm housewife, and a volunteer for Sheboygan Memorial Hospital for 22 years.

He was born May 14, 1935, the son of Norbert and Roma Huhn Hopf. He was self-employed for 50 years, later forming Hopf Farms LLC in 2005 with his two sons, and is a sales representative for NuTech. He loves combining corn and soybeans, loves Case IH tractors, and was a 30-year tractor puller at the Sheboygan County fair.

The family includes three sons – Gary (Dawn), Dale (Linda), Dean (Stacy), daughter-in-law (Karren) and beloved son Keith who passed away in 2005. The rest of the family includes nine grandchildren, two step grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one on the way.

Don and Gloria are active members of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove.
