Tigers’ Dvorachek is CLC champ

Dvorachek, who took fourth last year, was clocked in 17 minutes, 14 seconds on the 3.1-mile course. He led the Tigers to a fourth-place finish with 93 points. Dvorachek earned All-CLC honors which are awarded to the top-10 finishers in the boys and girls races.

Cedar Grove-Belgium won the meet with 34. The Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah Resorters had an incomplete team.

Howards earned second in the girls meet with 51 points and was paced by sophomore Katie Guse who captured fifth in 21:22 over 3.1 miles. Senior Lily Paul of Cedar Grove-Belgium was the winner with a time of 19:59.

Cedar Grove won the championship for the fourth straight year as it scored an outstanding 23 points. The Rockets’ first five runners finished in the top-10 overall.

Three Tiger girls received All- CLC recognition – Guse, junior Noelle Eschen, who placed eighth, and sophomore Ashley Reinemann who was ninth.

“As a final tune-up before the sectional meet Saturday, the Tigers ran with desire and determination. Seven athletes ran personal best efforts,” said Tiger head coach Gary Kalk.

“It was a hard run with the slippery grass and hills. However, we had two personal records – one by Franky Perko, and Summer Henschel shaved an entire minute off of her last PR,” said Resorter head coach Erin Gross.

Kaitlyn Near of HGHS won the CLC junior varsity girls race in 24:36.

HGHS and EL-G will compete in the Division 3 sectional meet at Sheboygan Lutheran. The boys race will start at 11 a.m., followed by the girls at 11:45.
