KIEL – Sophomore Sophie Albert had an impressive 21 kills to power visiting Plymouth past Kiel, 25-16, 25-16, 19-25, 25-21, in a girls volleyball match Tuesday night.

The victory upped the Panthers’ Eastern Wisconsin Conference dual record at 5-5 (22-15 overall).

Kathryn Aukerman contributed eight kills to Plymouth’s attack which had an outstanding 42 total. Mary Albert had a team-high 41 assists.

Sophie Albert paced PHS in ace serves with four and Elise Suttner had three. Elizabeth Baus led in digs with seven, followed by Cara Bardon’s six.

Bardon led the Panthers in serving with 14-for-14. Suttner and Aukerman were high in serve reception with 13-for-13 and 10- for-10, respectively.

“Quite the game from Elise Suttner with no serve-receive errors and only one serve error out of 23. She was picking up everything on defense,” said Panther head coach Peggy Huhn.

“Jessica Schumacher came in on the right side for us after Megan Goeser rolled her ankle in practice and did a great job on the right side. We had to also move Hayley Mueller back to the middle for the night and she really was able to take up some good space in the middle block.

“Mary Albert really made some amazing saves tonight with her assists. Everyone picked up their game in order for us to have success,” said Huhn.
