KARL A. REINEMANN

Karl A. Reinemann, age 88, a resident of the Pine Haven Christian Home of Oostburg, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 13, 2014.

He was born in Sheboygan on Feb. 27, 1926, a son of the late Albert and Alma (Hildebrand) Reinemann. Karl attended school in Sheboygan, and was a 1944 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School.

For several years, he was employed by the Rockow Roofing and Siding Co., starting his career with Kohler Co. in 1954, retiring from the Brass Division in 1988. Karl was a member of the Quarter Century Club.

On Aug. 17, 1946, Karl was united in marriage with Virginia Roepke at the parsonage of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. She preceded him in death Nov. 11, 2003.

Karl was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Howards Grove, where he volunteered his time helping the treasurer for many years.

He was a charter member of the Howards Grove Lions Club, where he served multiple terms in various offices of the club. He was one of the original designers and builders of the Lions six-man bicycle, which was popular at various parades throughout the county over the years. He also served with the Sheboygan County Area Lions Eye Bank, serving on its board of directors for several years, and always enjoyed helping with vision screenings at various schools. He was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship by the Lions.

Family was always important to Karl, and he treasured his time with his grandkids and the family pets. He bowled in men’s leagues for many years, and later in many senior leagues, only retiring from the sport in the last few years.

Surviving Karl are three sons, Thomas (Sally) of Sheboygan Falls, Terry (Shirley) of Lowell, Ark., and Gary (Laura) of Plymouth; one daughter, Gail (Jerry) Peterson of Trenton, Wis..; six grandchildren, Julie (Skip) Wyss, Lisa and Dana Reinemann, Tricia (Mike) Prodoehl, Craig (Amber) Reinemann and Jason (Kristine) Hensel; six great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Isabella, Peyton, Brecken, Lukas and Kyle; his special friend and companion, Janet Limberg of Plymouth; and a brother, Don (Shirley) Reinemann of Hayward.

In addition to his wife and parents, Karl was also preceded in death by two children, Steven and Kathy and infant grandson, Dustin; two sisters, Virginia Bruckschen and Helen Lutze; and four brothers-inlaw, Alfred and Dennis Roepke, Clarence Bruckschen and Ray Lutze and his sisterin law, Jane Roepke.

A funeral service was held for Karl on Friday morning, Oct. 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. The Rev. Darrel Bergelin, pastor, officiated. Interment followed at St. John & St. Peter Cemetery in Kassa.

A memorial fund has been established to Lions Camp Rosholt in Karl’s name.
