LORRAINE C. JOHNSON

Lorraine C. Johnson, age 79, of Cascade, Wis., passed away Friday afternoon, Oct. 24, 2014, at Rocky Knoll surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Cascade on Dec. 31, 1934, daughter of the late Fritz and Helen (Conrad) Marquardt. Lorraine attended Webster Grade School and in 1952 she graduated from Waldo High School.

On March 4, 1958, she married James A. Johnson at First Congregational Church in Plymouth.

She worked at Borden’s Cheese Co. and also worked for many years at Valley View Medical Center/Aurora until retirement in 2002.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade.

Lorraine loved her horses, being outside, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons, James (Janice) Johnson of Fredonia and Jay Johnson of Cascade; three grandchildren: Rachel (Maurice) Laplant of Port Washington, Rebecca (Patrick) Helderman of Mogadore,

Ohio, and Christina (Trevor) Kison of Kaukauna; four great-grandchildren: Quentin, Jeselle, Trevor and Ashton; four brothers: Fritz (Karen) Marquardt, Jerome (Karen) Marquardt, Elroy (Suzanne) Marquardt and Gerald Marquardt, all of Cascade, and three sisters: Audrey (Gus) Johnson of Plymouth, Shirly Reader of Mequon and Karen (Roger) Goetch of Plymouth. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Jill Ann Johnson; ex-husband, James A. Johnson; and her infant sister, Caroline Dian Marquardt.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Parnell, Wis. The Rev. Richard Bidinger, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cascade.

The family would like to thank the staff at Rocky Knoll, Dr. Peshke, Dr. Zimmerman, their nurses Jen and Becky, Dr. Kumar, nurse Julie, Dr. Brooks, Dr. Soki, Kelly Dassow, 4th floor nursing staff at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, along with everyone else who gave Lorraine care and compassion in her time of need.
