BYRON R. BILGO

Byron R. Bilgo, age 92, of Plymouth, Wis., passed away early Monday afternoon, Oct. 27, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Dec. 7, 1921, in the town of Mitchell, Wis., a son of the late Herman and Bridgette (Kilcoyn) Bilgo.

He served in the U.S. Army from June 1944 to July 2, 1946, serving in the European African Middle Eastern Theater.

On Sept. 11, 1948, he married Betty June Siebenaler in Beechwood, Wis. The couple resided in Cascade after their marriage and the last 52 years in the Plymouth area.

He was a truck driver for Olsen Transportation Corp. (later known as C.W. Transport Co.) in Wisconsin Rapids for 39 years, retiring in 1978.

He is a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade serving on the Board of Education, Elders and Trustees in the church.

He was a member of the Ambelang- Ebelt-Lau Cascade American Legion Post #386 serving as president and holding various offices in the organization.

He took pride in his home and kept his lawn and vehicles immaculate.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Betty of Plymouth; son, Terry Bilgo of Sheboygan and sister-in-law, Arlene Siebenaler of Plymouth; and also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Hugo (Pearl), Everett (Evelyn) and infant, Wilbur; two sisters, Beatrice (Hank) Gonia and Verona (Norman) Heraty and two brothers-inlaw, Myron and Lyle Siebenaler.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade. The Rev. Richard Bidinger, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Cascade.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, Oct. 30, from 4-7 p.m. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth and also on Friday morning, Oct. 31, at CHURCH from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

The Ambelang-Ebelt-Lau Cascade American Legion Post #386 will conduct military rites at the church following services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Byron’s name for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade.
