RICHARD LEE SCHIPPER

Richard Lee Schipper, age 74, of Cascade, Wis., passed away at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital on Thursday evening, Oct. 30, 2014. He was surrounded by his loving family with his loving wife at his side, as she always was.

Richard was born in Sheboygan on Nov. 18, 1939, son of Martin and Josephine (Eversdyk) Schipper. He attended Cascade Grade School and Plymouth High School, graduating in 1957.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1959 on the USS Yorktown.

Richard married the love of his life, Linda Herr, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cascade on Sept. 13, 1969. The couple have resided in Cascade since their marriage.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.

Richard worked at various jobs before working with the Sheboygan County Highway Department where he retired after working 28 years.

He was a past member of the Cascade Fire Department, coached Little League baseball and served as a Cascade village trustee.

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and spending time with his family and granddaughters.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Linda; two sons, Ronald (Becky) of Oostburg and Robert (Tracy) of Appleton; five granddaughters: Jordyn and Kimberly of Oostburg and Samantha, Jennifer and Allison of Appleton; two brothers, James (June) Schipper of Sturgeon Bay and A. Bill Schipper of Plymouth; one sister, Donna (Gary) TenPas of Cascade; mother-in-law, Vivian Keippel of Cascade and sister-in-law, Sandra (James) Brooks of Alvarado, Texas; and also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Jason TenPas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Father Dan Volkert, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Cascade.

Friends may call at the CHURCH on Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of services.

Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post #5612 will conduct military rites following the service.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center in Richard’s name, where he spent much time over the past year.
