DANIEL J. FEIDER

Daniel J. Feider, 55, of W3672 County Rd. K, Cedar Grove, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at his home in the early morning hours of Sun., Nov. 16, 2014.

He was born in Sheboygan on April 14, 1959, a son of the late Joseph N. and Elaine S. (Schueller) Feider, and grew up on the family farm east of Dacada. He attended St. Nicholas Grade School, the Tri-Catholic Consolidated School, and graduated with the Random Lake High School Class of 1977. He worked with the family business of Feider Trucking, and purchased it from his parents in 1986. He was a livestock dealer and hauler, transporting cattle from area farmers to the Milwaukee Stockyards at Reeseville, and Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Auctions at Lomira and Reedsville.

Mr. Feider was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Random Lake and its Holy Name Society. He was a member of Catholic Family Life Branch 164 of Dacada, the Luxembourg American Cultural Society and the Wisconsin Independent Livestock Dealers Association. Dan enjoyed interacting with his farmer customers, reading newspapers, discussing local politics, and following the Green Bay Packers as well as the school activities of his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed the companionship of his pet cats.

Survivors include one brother, Gary Feider of Cedar Grove; three sisters, Susan (Jack) Kelly of West Allis, Doris (Gary) Feider-Schlenvogt of Port Washington and Rita (Jeff) Horstmeier of Dacada; five nephews and five nieces; many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Fri., Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. at St. Nicholas Chapel, Dacada. Fr. Richard Cerpich, former pastor of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thurs., Nov. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave., Belgium, and on Fri., Nov. 21, at the church from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. A parish vigil will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial funds have been established in Mr. Feider’s name for Our Lady of the Lakes Parish and the Luxembourg American Cultural Society. Online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com .
