Ralph M. Drew, age 73, of Plymouth, died Thursday, November

20, 2014, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center where he had been a patient for 17 days.

He was born June 21, 1941, in St. Johnsbury, VT; the middle son of the late Morris & Ruth (Labbee) Drew.

Ralph attended Horn of the Moon and St. Michael’s Grade Schools, graduating from the latter. He graduated from Montpelier High School and completed some college coursework at University of VT.

Ralph served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1960. He was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and Plattsburgh Air Force Base in New York.

On June 24, 1961, he married Jane Bauer at Wyoming Presbyterian Church in Millburn, NJ. Together they had three children; Debra, Kathy, and Todd. On December 29, 1984, Ralph and Jannine Hass were united in marriage in Milwaukee, WI. They have resided in the Plymouth area for the past 19 years.

Ralph held a variety of jobs throughout his life crossing a wide range of fields of interest. He worked as an usher at the local movie theater (where he learned to despise the soundtrack of “Oklahoma”). He cut stone at Rock of Ages Quarry (some used for grave markers). For a while he held a position with the Highway Dept of the State of Vermont until the truck he was driving was broadsided by a freight train after which he moved into the sales/service workforce. He was employed by A.J. Meeker and A.B. Dick Co. for a total of 16 years; he then transitioned into the waste paper industry where he held various positions in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. For seven years he had a part-time maintenance position with Johnsonville Sausage at their Riverside plant. At the time of his death, Ralph was employed by Coronet Paper out of Miami, FL involved in buying roll stock for converting.

Ralph is survived by his wife Jannine; his children, Debra Drew of Perrysburg, OH, Kathy Smolenski of Oakland, NJ, and Todd (Kris) Drew of Sparta, NJ; grandchildren, Emily & Andrew Smolenski, Twins, Tyler & Joshua Drew. Also left to mourn his loss, are his loving cousin, Linda (Tony) Wagner of Kit Carson, CO; half-brother, Alonzo Drew; step-brother, Antonio Turgeon; sister-in-law, Valerie Hass; brotherin law, Allan (Cindy) Hass; Goddaughter, Rachel Hass; and nephew, Jonathan Hass. He is further survived by countless relatives and friends including his childhood and lifelong friends, Deane & Raylene Hedges of Montpelier, VT.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Dorene Drew; his brothers, Morris and David; and his inlaws, Allan & Gloryann Hass.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church 308 County Road W Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Gary Wegner OFM Cap will officiate. Ralph will be laid to rest with Military Rites at the Winooski Cemetery in the Town of Lyndon in Sheboygan County.

Family and friends may call at the church in Mount Calvary on Saturday morning, December 6th from 9:00 AM to 11:45 AM.
