Holec placed first. – Review photo by Greg Ceilley PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth Panthers opened their boys swimming and diving season on a bright note with a 104-38 rout over Berlin/ Green Lake here Tuesday night in a nonconference dual meet.

PHS won eight of the 12 events. Leading the way for the Panthers was junior Ryan Holec who won the 200-yard individual medley and anchored the winning 200 and 400 freestyle relays. PHS senior Lucas Collard swam on two first-place relays and won the 100 freestyle.

“With 12 new swimmers and just a week to get things starts and relays figured out, I was extremely happy with the effort from everyone,” said PHS head coach Clare Sedlacek.

“We were really ready to start the season because of all the hard work of our guys in practice every day.

“Our relays all looked very strong, and once all the kinks get worked out in our exchanges, we appear to have two varsity relays that can compete for spots on the block at invitationals,” Sedlacek added.
