PATRICIA A. BILGO

Patricia A. “Patty” Bilgo, age 64, of New Holstein, died on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital in Sheboygan.

She was born July 18, 1950 in Antigo, WI, daughter of the late Karl & Lois (Kohn) Pingel. Patty lived with Willard & Janet Davis and fondly thinks of their daughter, Linda Nowicki as her ‘little sister’. Patty married Charles “Chuck” Bilgo on April 8, 1995 at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth.

Patty had an immense love of children and was called by God to educate and help train up in the Lord fifth graders at St. John Lutheran School in Plymouth; a vocation she enjoyed for 25 years. Following her teaching career, she also worked at Great Lakes Cheese in Plymouth, the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, Stell’s Piggly Wiggly in New Holstein, and in the cafeteria at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where she delivered meals to patients.

Patty was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Holstein where she also volunteered time with the Altar Guild, singing in the choir, and helping serve others in the kitchen for funeral luncheons.

While attending college, Patty’s intelligence was showcased by being accepted into Mensa. Patty was also known for the fine articles of clothing she made by her own hand. Wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and other articles of clothing were all made with loving care by Patty. Being a seamstress wasn’t her only creative talent. She made many crafts for craft fairs including rice bags and decorative oven towels. Combining her love of teaching and her creative abilities, Patty also enjoyed working with children on art projects and showing children the joy working with your hands can provide.

In her free time, Patty liked tending to flowers in her flower garden, played volleyball on Monday nights at St. John Lutheran School, showed a mastery of the English language through her writings, and openly shared her love of music and the joy it brought her, especially from her favorite group, Alabama.

Unknown to some, Patty was a Professional Bull Riding enthusiast who knew the names of every cowboy and all of the fantastic bulls. She was also known for her vast collection of stuffed animals who each had their own name and story.

Patty truly loved every facet of the Christmas Season above all other times of the year. She looked forward to working on her Christmas Village, and decorating her Christmas Tree with the hundreds of ornaments she had received over the years all the while recalling every story and every person from whom the ornament came. She was also well known for organizing a yearly Christmas program which she knew would bring Christmas Joy to others around her, especially when bringing her students to visit the residents at Rocky Knoll healthcare facility in Plymouth.

Survivors include her husband: Chuck; her step-children: Jodi (Matthew) Moioffer, Trevor (Christine) Bilgo; 3 step-grandchildren: Logan & Avery Moioffer, Christian Bilgo; 2 sisters: Cheryl (Steve) Turkowski, Muriel (Bob) Weiss; a brother: Matthew Pingel; 3 sisters-in-law: Deb Dix, Cheryl Capelle, Chris Lubach; and a brother-in-law: Chester Bilgo. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church (1702 VanBuren St.) in New Holstein with the Rev. Azor Cigelske officiating. Burial will follow in the New Holstein Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (1212 Teckla Place) in Kiel from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2014 and on Monday at the church from 10:00 am until 10:45 am.

Patty’s family would like to extend a warm thank you to the entire nursing staff and doctors at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital Emergency Department, and the entire third floor staff, especially Dr. V for all of the loving care that was given to Patty. Yogi says, “Good night my precious angel.” “Goodnight, Yogi.” “Goodnight, BooBoo.”
