Senior’s Santa

As You See It

Last Thursday, “Santa” came to Walgreens in Plymouth, WI. Like the mythical figure, she wishes to remain anonymous. However, what she did will help many seniors in the area.

Home Instead Senior Care of Sheboygan sponsors a program called Be a Santa to Senior where people can purchase gifts for seniors in-need. Oftentimes these are gifts that are more necessities than luxuries and members of the community show their goodwill by helping grant seniors’ Christmas wishes.

When “Santa” came to Walgreens, she indicated that she’d like to help by purchasing $1500 worth of Christmas gifts for the program. Four “elves” (the Walgreens employees) were more than happy to help pick out the gifts and fill bags for the seniors.

Though the donor remains anonymous, she did say that she felt that “at Christmas the “busyness” can lead our hearts and minds away from the real meaning of this beautiful season. This was the best gift she could receive.”
