ROBERT F. “BOB” BULIN

Robert F. “Bob” Bulin, age 71 of Plymouth passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning (December 15, 2014) at his home.

He was born on September 24, 1943 in Chicago, IL a son of the late James and Helen (Stareck) Bulin.

He attended school at Tilden Tech High School in Chicago graduating in 1962.

Bob served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1966 during the Vietnam War.

He worked for Sears in Chicago, IL after leaving the Air Force then moved to Plymouth in 1968 and worked for GTE/Verizon as a draftsman and lineman until his retirement in 2005.

On June 24, 1967 he married Susan Schirmer at St. Fridolin’s Catholic Church in Glenbeulah. The couple resided for a short time in Chicago before moving to Plymouth in 1968.

Bob was a member of the American Legion Walter P. Gillis Memorial Post #484 in Glenbeulah and held many office within the club.

He enjoyed deer hunting, watching sports on TV and watching his grandchildren’s many activities.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years: Susan; one daughter: Teri Bulin- Messelt (Husband: Randy Messelt) and their step children Tim, Beth and Jenny of Black River Falls, WI; one son: Dan (Nicole) Bulin and their children Anthony and Ava of Plymouth; mother: Helen Bulin of Batavia, IL; one brother: James Bulin of Schaumberg, IL; brother-in-law: James Schirmer of Plymouth; two sisters-in-law: Yvonne (Steven) Bales of North Wilkshore, NC and Toni (Warren) DeMunck of Glenbeulah; special nieces and nephew: Yvette Allen and her children Steve, Anthony and Alexis, Cindy Bulin of Schaumberg. IL, Jessica Schirmer of Indiana and Michael Bulin of Arizona and special friends: Lenny (Shirley) Wysocki of Big Rock, IL.

He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his son: William, father: James, and father and mother-in-law: Tony and Barbara Schirmer and twin brother: Dennis.

Funeral services will be held on Friday morning (Dec. 19th) at 11:00 A.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Father Wayne Bittner will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas North Cemetery in the Town of Rhine. The American Legion Walter P. Gillis Memorial Post #484 of Glenbeulah will conduct military rites following the service.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home on Thursday evening (Dec. 18th) from 4:00-7:00 P.M. and on Friday morning (Dec. 19th) from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in being established in Bob’s name.
