New Assemblymen plan swearing-in ceremony Monday

Area Rep.-Elect Terry Katsma, R-Oostburg, and Tyler Vorpagel, R-Plymouth, will hold a joint inauguration ceremony at the Sheboygan County Courthouse, 615 N. Sixth St., Monday, Dec. 29 at 5 p.m..

Katsma and Vorpagel are entering their first terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly, and both will represent a portion of the city of Sheboygan.

“I am excited to start serving the citizens of the 27th Assembly District,” Vorpagel said in a press release announcing the ceremony. “An inauguration ceremony in Sheboygan gives me the opportunity to thank family, friends and supporters after a successful and hard-fought campaign.”

“I am humbled by the sense of duty and responsibility as I begin my life of public service,” added Katsma. “This inauguration ceremony will be an opportunity for me to express my gratitude for the support from my family and friends.”

Members of the public and the media are invited to attend, with a short reception to immediately follow the ceremony. Both legislators officially take office on Jan. 5.
