Collision leads to serious injury

The Sheboygan County Sheriffs Department received several calls reporting a 2-vehicle collision Saturday evening.

The accident occurred on State 57 in the northbound lane, near State 28 in the Town of Lyndon.

One vehicle, a Ford Ranger truck, had rolled over onto its side. That vehicle’s driver, 61-year old Thomas Yekenewicz of Sheboygan, was seriously injured and trapped inside the truck.

Yekenewicz had been driving westbound on State 28. He pulled into the path of a Dodge Stratus being driven northbound by 35- year old Michael Sielaff of Adell.

The fire departments of Waldo, Cascade, and Adell responded, as well as the Orange Cross Ambulance Service, and Flight For Life.

Once Yekenewicz was extracted from the truck, he was immediately taken to Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah for treatment of his injuries.

Sielaff received minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.

The Sheboygan County Highway Department and Sheboygan County Accident Reconstruction Unit also assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
