Bonebrake, Miller lead Resorters in tourney

APPLETON – Seniors Brock Bonebrake and Nick Miller placed second at 145 and 195 pounds, respectively, to pace the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah/Howards Grove Resorters in Saturday’s Battle on the Fox River Wrestling Tournament at Appleton West.

The Resorters finished 10th in the 16-team field with 75 points. A majority of the schools were larger than EL-G/HG. Perennial powerhouse D.C. Everest (Scholfield) won the title with 183.

Bonebrake posted a 4-1 record on the day and had two pins. In the first-place magch, he lost to D.C. Everest’s Nathan White, 8-3.

Miller was 4-1 in the tourney and posted two pins.

The Resorters’ other competi- tors included: Trevor Rebedew, fourth at 152; Max Ward, seventh, 120; Frank Perko, sixth, 126; Trent Rebedew, eighth, 132; Brennen Cain, 11th, 138; Glauco Grestini, 15th, 145; Jared Shaw, 10th, 160; Troy Rebedew, 10th, 170; and Alex Navis, 10th at 220.

“We got to wrestle some excellent wrestling schools that we don’t usually run into like D.C. Everest, Middleton, Hortonville, Slinger and Pittsville to name a few,” said Resorter head coach Larry Ward.

Ward said Bonebrake and Miller wrestled extremely well.
