Carleen Rose Pickruhn (nee Helmer), 54, of Plymouth passed away Sunday, January 4th at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by family and friends in lucky Suite 13.

She was a beloved wife to Scott Pickruhn, mother to Jennifer Klemme, and friend to all she met.

Carleen was born on November 13, 1960, in Plymouth, Wisconsin, to the late Carl and Helen (Bub) Helmer.

She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1978 and shortly thereafter began working at Cleve-Pak until it closed its doors. During that time she earned her Associate’s Degree from LTC. In 1999, she began her current career as an Accounting Manager at Dairy Farmers of America.

On April 13th, 1987, Carleen married Scott Pickruhn in Las Vegas, Nevada. This was just one of over twenty trips that she and Scott took to their favorite destination, including their 25th wedding anniversary. Carleen’s most recent trip to Vegas was over Thanksgiving of 2014 while accompanied by 18 of her family and friends.

Carleen’s zest for life went beyond the city limits of Las Vegas. She was a dedicated member of the Plymouth Jaycees and served in various capacities from 1979- 2001.

Continuing her passion for service, she joined the Gift of Life executive board in 2002 and was an active member throughout her own path to peace. In addition, Carleen held positions in the tennis, basketball, and soccer booster clubs while her daughter attended Plymouth High School and she was sure never to miss any of the games, matches, concerts, or dance recitals.

Although always on the move, Carleen still found time to plan outings and trivia contests as a diligent member of the 1978 Class Reunion Board. Over a decade of birthdays were celebrated with the Birthday Club exploring new establishments around the county and state. The Vacation Club expanded these explorations to places such as Aruba, Hawaii, St. Martin, and St. Thomas. Clubs aside, she had countless memories with loved ones playing Elvis songs on the jukebox at the Nicolaus House and spending Labor Day weekend at the Sheboygan County Fair.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years: Scott Pickruhn; daughter: Jennifer Klemme of Hartland; father of Jennifer: Brian Klemme of Plymouth; four brothers: Earl (Jeannie) Helmer of Plymouth, Wayne (Nancy) Helmer of Sheboygan, Steve (Cathy) Helmer of Plymouth, Leonard (Nancy) Helmer of Cleveland; one sisterin law: Penny (Terry) Senkbeil of Sheboygan; one brother-in-law: Rick (Sandra) Pickruhn of Plymouth.

Carleen is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Her parents and mother-in-law, Rosemary Pickruhn, preceded Carleen in death.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 11th) at 1:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Dale Miller will officiate.
