BOYS BASKETBALL

MISHICOT – The Howards Grove Tigers buried an impressive 11 three-point shots to pave the way for an 83-54 drubbing of Mishicot here Saturday afternoon.

The nonconference boys basketball win raised the Tigers’ record to 8-3. The Indians dropped to 1-8.

HGHS opened up a 24-11 after one quarter and the lead ballooned to 64-30 through three periods.

The Tigers had 13 players in the scoring column, led by senior guard Ethan Brinkman who tallied 18 points.

“The kids played well together and really did a good job seeking out shots for each other. Our unselfi shness showed very well in a game in which we had 21 assists,” said Tiger head coach Eric Worth.

HGHS had 10 players with one or more assists, led by Brinkman, Dakota Rabe and Zach Stauss with three each. Nick Brickner grabbed a team-high five rebounds.

“We did a much better job of catching ready and we looked to attack early and often. I think it was fun game for all the guys and another step in the right direction for the program,” said Worth.
