Toilet seat art to be auctioned

For their first Final Friday of 2015, the Sheboygan Visual Artists will hold an unusual “Seat Art” Exhibit and Silent Auction Fundraiser at EBCO, 1201 Erie Avenue, on January 30, from 6:00 to 10:00.

Bemis Manufacturing Company of Sheboygan Falls, in a new partnership with SVA, has donated 25 toilet seats. Local artists have painted or embellished the seats in their own individual styles; each seat has become a unique, although practical, work of art.

The themed art exhibit is called “Bemis Up – Seat Art” and the entire collection of one-of-a-kind Bemis toilet seats will be offered to the public in a silent auction. Bidding will be held from 6:00 to 8:30.

Guests are invited to cast a vote for their favorite “Bemis Up” seat. Awards will be given to the top three artists. This exhibit will also feature a variety of “seat” themed artworks for sale, including photos, paintings, and more.

Complimentary snacks and affordable beverages will be served throughout the evening. All proceeds will support the Sheboygan Visual Artists, a non-profit organization whose membership has grown to include over 70 artists and 17 patron members from the area.
