Vernetta Ferguson, age 83 of Plymouth passed away late Tuesday morning (January 13, 2015) at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility, where she had been a residentfor the past 4 years.

She was born on April 20, 1931 in the Town of Schleswig (Manitowoc County), a daughter of the late Clarence and Thiela (Kraemer) Zillmann.

Vernetta attended Rockville Grade School and graduated from Kiel High School in 1949.

She married Charles Ferguson on October 3, 1953 in Kiel, WI. The couple resided in the Plymouth area following their marriage. Charles preceded her in death on November 19, 1978.

She worked at Cleve-Pak Corporation in Plymouth for 25 years, retiring in 1993.

Vernetta was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth.

She enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, watching TV, scrapbooking, genealogy and history, and spending time with her loving family.

She is survived by her six children: Randall (Colleen) Ferguson of Plymouth, Roseann Ferguson of Plymouth, Ray Lee Ferguson of Plymouth, Cheryl Lensmire of Sheboygan Falls, Jeffrey Ferguson of Plymouth and Susan Lawrence of Sheboygan Falls; seven grandchildren: Tracy Ferguson of Plymouth, Jason Lensmire of Plymouth, Jered Lensmire (Fiancée: Brea) of Plymouth, Jamie (Derek) Liebenstein of Washington D.C., Jenna Lawrence (Fiancé: Jesse) of Sheboygan, Hollie Ferguson of Plymouth and Patrick Gahagan of Milwaukee; eight great-grandchildren: Lincoln, Serenity, Lawson, and Kyia Lensmire, Chase and Ryland Wagner, Neven Mc- Couston and Jacob Liebenstein; one brother: Ronald (Violet) Zillmann of Florida and two sisters-in-law: Doris Ferguson of Port Washington and Julie Zillmann of Florida.

She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Vernetta was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, father and mother- inlaw John (Matty) and Freida (Plautz) Ferguson, one granddaughter: Elizabeth Gahagan; one brother: Harold Zillmann; two sons-in-law: David Lensmire and Charles Lawrence; brothers and sisters-in-law: Betty and Roman Miley, Ray Schumacher, Robert and Mary Ann O’Neil, and John (Jack) Ferguson and Her K9 buddies Buffy Sue, Chelsy, and Angel.

Following Vernetta’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Vernetta’s name.
