Riverview students visit Blue Moon Studio

Submitted photo Submitted photo Seventh-graders in the integrated studies photography class at Riverview Middle School recently visited Blue Moon Studio in Sheboygan. Blue Moon Studio is a commercial photography business owned and operated by Glenn Thiesenhuesen, who taught the class about being a professional photographer. Thiesenhuesen showed the students around his workplace, different kinds of equipment, current jobs he is working on, and examples of professional photos in everyday things such as magazines and packaging. He was very open to the group’s many questions, and offered tips and tricks to make photos turn out better. Students also saw how he calibrated colors and adjusted the lights, reflectors, and angle and height of the camera. “The students greatly enjoyed the field trip and were grateful for Mr. Thiesenhuesen’s hospitality,” said teacher Tom Larsen.
